Episode 11

A seat at the table: Allyship, partnerships and taking risks to make STEAM more inclusive

Host Christina Cho, and guests Nii Addy (Yale School of Medicine), Krishna Mudumbi (Yale School of Medicine) talk about the power of advocacy and allyship. Together they discuss how to effectively advocate for those who are less privileged, and how to form meaningful partnerships with people who may have different interests and goals. They also talk about the limitations of representing one identity or school of thought, and how advocacy can come in the form of making space for someone else to speak. The guests also talk about the risks of fighting for justice and equity, and how small movements forward are wins worth celebrating.
